Bill of materials:
- 3d printed part — two options
- MakerWorld — Tough claw to quadlock mount adapter for Mapillary — one click printing for Bambu studio or orca slicer
- or onshape document to manually prepare for printing
- phone with quadlock case
- any quadlock compatible vibration isolation part and locking mount — for example this one
- RAM MOUNT Small Tough-Claw — RAP-B-400U
How-to:
- Unscrew ball joint from the RAM claw — keep the screw
- Disassemble the adapter bracket for the quad lock vibration dampener
- Use the nut from the quad lock adapter in the smaller hole and screw in the vibration dampener to the star pattern part
- Use the screw from step 1 to attach the 3d printed part to the claw
- Attach quad lock mount to the vibration isolator
- You are done!
Caveats:
- Optimized for pixel 3a XL, other phones might have parts of the mount in frame
- 3d printed part limits vibration isolator range of motion — can remove some part of it for clearance
- Phone can only be mounted before screwing the tough-claw to the bike
- There is little clearance to mount the phone to the quad lock mount
- This is a very rigid mount and will create jello effect on video on rough roads
